Until recently, analyzing which Management Pack Operations Manager packages cause the most alerts required running a report Data Volume by Management Pack. This possibility still exists, of course, but we can also use Operations Manager's built-in console property to tune alerts (Tune Management Pack), available in the workspace Administration.
A very simple solution is to configure from which time interval the alerts produced by each MP packet are counted. For this purpose, the command Identify Management Packs To Tune.
This command (available in the right part of the console - Tasks) has a somewhat misleading name, as it is not used to select packages, but to configure the time for which alerts are counted and to specify the minimum number of alerts reported in the selected time interval by the corresponding management package.
Although the purpose of this console tool is to tune Management Packs, you can use the same method to find the most "noisy" packs, or you can quickly get a summary of the number of alerts from a certain time broken down by MP packs.
If you are interested in a summary of the number of alerts reported over, say, a month, you still need to set the following after setting the time limits "sensitivity" per 1 alert so that none are missed in the count.
