Thanks to the implementation of Microsoft 365, more than 300 lawyers of the Domański, Zakrzewski, Palinka law firm have dramatically improved their daily work, while maintaining maximum security of sensitive data.
The digital transformation taking place in the market has taken on an incredible scale. This also applies to law firms, which until recently were considered a traditional and highly conservative business. Today, cloud technology is becoming an indispensable part of legal services supporting not only daily cooperation and communication with clients, but also providing automation of processes such as organizing, analyzing and describing documents. The cloud works in the background, giving us secure access to these tools. What's more, their implementation and use in daily work is extremely easy and intuitive.

Traditional tools vs digital applications
Lawyers have gained access to Microsoft's cloud services, which are, among other things, integrated with our telecommunications infrastructure. Thanks to this, among other things, they can call and talk using Teams as if they were on the phone. This communication mechanism is the most cost-effective, as we have reduced costs almost to 50% of previous expenses.

The goal of the project was to create a platform that enables efficient and secure work with documents, letters and files. Microsoft 365 is currently used by 340 law firm employees, and the introduction of Azure Information Protection has provided new opportunities to classify, protect and manage access to documents.
Initially, we did not believe in the effectiveness of these mechanisms. Now, when we create documents in our electronic repository systems and make them available to the client using Azure Information Protection, the client has the ability to view and edit them in a managed manner. We can revoke permissions for document operations at any time and have full control over the document. We believed that this technology can be easy to use and, above all, useful. We have 100% control over the documentation, even when we send it via traditional email.

Safety first
"Virtual data room" is a solution that makes it possible to share work on documents with law firm clients, which is especially important in M&A processes. Currently, lawyers use links to their own OneDrive virtual drives, where file sharing can be done in a secure and controlled manner.
In convenient and secure management of mobile applications and devices, the work of the law firm is supported by the Microsoft Intune solution. It allows you to control the use of devices used for daily work, namely cell phones, tablets and laptops. For greater security and convenience of device management, all updates are performed on a regular basis.
User convenience
During the pandemic, it turned out that even older users very quickly adopted Microsoft Teams often faster and more efficiently than younger users. If a lawyer nowadays can easily upload a file to OneDrive, share a link with a client, efficiently manage access rights to it, it really proves that the technology is easy to use.

Cooperation with ISCG
Many IT heads wonder whether they still need the support of a technology partner - companies like ISCG, since cloud services are so easy to implement. For us, it's a huge benefit to be able to work with ISCG because, unlike us, they have a broad portfolio of experience from different projects at different entities, and there is, in my opinion, no more valuable knowledge than the hands-on expertise of an experienced technology partner who additionally understands the client's business and is able to meaningfully engage in delivering value to the client. This is exactly the kind of collaboration we have with ISCG. Virtually every problem we can address to them, and even if we don't find an answer right away, we always work out an effective and optimal solution in the course of joint discussions with them. Also important to me is ISCG's role as a technology partner, which inspires me in planning strategies for long-term technological changes at DZP. Of inestimable value in this context is their vast experience of over 20 years in Microsoft technology areas and beyond. Without undue coyness, I can say that without them, DZP would not be such a technologically advanced company, and our digital transformation would probably not be as effective.
