
Collections are the basic way of organizing resources detected by Configuration Manager. A resource (e.g. a computer) can be in a collection by direct assignment, query, device category or by rules that include or exclude (Include/Exclude) other collections. An additional restriction can come from a so-called limiting collection.
There is an easy way to determine relationships between collections, available in the Configuration Manager admin console in versions 2103 and later. To see relationships between collections, select "View Relationships" from the context menu of the collection.

The dependencies of the collections are then shown in graphic form, in particular the limiting collection, the included and excluded collections:

Such a view is a more convenient way to check dependencies than the one shown in the collection properties:

As you can see, the new way of presenting dependencies between collections is more convenient to use.
